Wholesome AF. I wish to live in a world of Eddie Winstons.

So cute I loved it

“I dreamed of you last night and it was horrible. I hate dreaming of you, which makes me sound like a bitch, but I just can’t bear to wake up and remind myself that you’re dead. I don’t like the feeling of time moving on because it’s taking me further and further away from you, to a time when I forget your laugh or what it was like to hug you tightly and bury my face in your hoodie and breathe in your mums detergent. But I also want time to hurry up, to skip ahead to when my brain has categorized you as “dead.” When my subconscious doesn’t look for you in a room or my hands don’t get out my phone to message you when something funny happens .” -Eddie Winston Is Looking For Love

Eddie is 90 years old, and while he has had a good life, he has never been kissed. While he is retired, he spends his days volunteering at a local charity shop, where he randomly meets Bella. Bella has recently lost the lost of her life at only 24, and the friendship with Eddie is unexpected but exactly what they both needed.

Talk about a book that is FILLED with heart! I read and loved The One Hundred Years of Lenni and Margot and didn’t realize Marianne had another book out until @jmulaura told me I needed to read it! I just absolutely adored both Eddie and Bella, and their friendship was just the sweetest and most heartwarming thing ever. Eddie reminded me a bit of my Grandpa, so this book also had me in tears a few times! This book will just leave you with a smile on your face, and honestly, I think we all need that sometimes, I know I do!

Eddie Winston is 90 years old and never been kissed. He works in a charity shop and takes great care of items that are dropped off, sometimes setting items aside that he thinks people might come back for and even taking in a guinea pig. The story has themes of friendship, love, and being brave. A very sweet 5 star read.

Very sweet and I read it in one day. Definitely not the most well crafted book I've ever read, I'd more so call it cute. That being said I've been in a major slump and this was good for me. Sweet character relationships for sure and we love an intergenerational friendship story.

Absolutely lovely. Marianne Cronin’s first book, “The One Hundred Years of Lenni and Margot” was so beautiful, I was just thrilled to see she had a second book out. This story was so wholesome and uplifting. I just wanted one more detail to be touched on at the very end, but otherwise just a pure story and finding the things we have lost.

What a powerful story of love, unlikely friendship, overcoming grief, and undying devotion. I struggled to be drawn to read this book, but it was so fulfilling when I did pick it up and the ending was beautiful. I love the friendship between Eddie and Bella. The love stories through out are both beautiful and heartbreaking. If you are looking for an emotional character driven book this is for you.
