✨ Thank you Penguin for the ARC! Forever grateful ✨
I read this masterpiece in one day, honestly one afternoon/evening. My eyes were glued to my kindle from page 1 till page 368!
I was in tears throughout this book, it was so beautiful. They are incredibly special characters, Cam and Dusty are the best second chance trope I’ve ever read. The little moments between them, the mentions of their past. So many special heartwarming moments.
I was foaming at the mouth, and crying all at once!
HOW DID I FORGET TO READ THE EPILOGUE! Oh to have Emmy and Luke back, wow why am I crying.
I have loved each second I was at Rebel Blue Ranch. I’m so sad that this series has come to an end. But incredibly excited to see what Lyla Sage writes next

Dusty and Cam were the couple we have been rooting for since Lost and Lassoed, especially given the epilogue of the third novel

This one is my least favorite of the series. I felt like I didn’t really know enough about the characters before this story to 100% get invested. The whole premise of Dusty staying was the horse sanctuary and you really don’t hear anything about it instead of at the beginning and the very end. It was still good but it just wasn’t my favorite

A second chance cowboy romance in the wilds of Wyoming. This was a solid end to the Rebel Blue series, and I liked hear Cam and Dusty’s story. They had great chemistry, and the integration of the previous characters was so nice. Everything Sage writes is just so easy to read. However, I wanted more than the MCs to pick back up where they left off years ago. Second chance stories need growth, and it didn’t feel like Cam or Dusty had done their needed self-reflection and change.

The problem with me is that I feel like I need to read all the books in a series, even if I don’t like them that much. So that is my reasoning for reading this. This was an audiobook, and unfortunately the narrator’s were a miss for me. I understand the complications involved with having two narrators and even having them speak during dialogue. But with these two I couldn’t stand the male’s “female voice” and the female’s “male voice” Her man voice was the absolute worst! It takes me out of the story and I couldn’t take it seriously. The spicy scenes were awful to listen through - half because of their voices and half the dialogue was cringe.
I enjoy second chance romances, and I wish there was a bit more wooing on each end. They lowkey just fell right back into each other and I feel it would’ve been better to have more conflict with that. The third act break was completely unnecessary!!! And it was a stupid reason. She literally pulled shit out of her ass, like her train of thinking was insane. He had no reason to do a grand gesture. He could apologize for omitting the truth, but she overreacted. And the nerve to throw in his face that he “always leaves” when she was the one who left him! His leaving for a new job all the time had nothing to do with her seeing as they weren’t speaking those 10+ years.
I won’t be reading another book by this author. I see their newest book is paranormal, which I like, but still cowboy-eques, which I’ve learned I don’t like. There isn’t any diversity and just straight up white people doing white people shit. I have no interest.
Good second chance romance. Dusty walked on the page as a perfect partner. But definitely a bit of a doormat for Cam. Cam’s story has built throughout the series. She remained true to the character throughout the book. I disliked the relationship with her parents and the lack of resolution. I wish Dusty had stood up to Cam more. And I appreciated that in this story the author mentioned Dusty working in other countries, working for female employers, etc. because the other books were very cishet white. This book was, too, but Dusty at least knew POC people. I know it’s a small town romance but at this point all 4 books took place almost exclusively on Rebel Blue and they were somehow even more insular than a small town. I can never get past other reviewers questioning where these people were on Jan 6. And while I am pretty sure Dusty was off working on a ranch somewhere, I can’t be sure about anyone else on Rebel Blue and I wish the author had done more to address that.
Overall, cute series. Easy to listen to, especially at faster speeds. This was a nice wrap up to the series. But the series overall was very insular and very white which feels disgusting in 2025.
