I couldn’t get myself to finish it- it was one of those books that was long just to be long. It had all the right pieces but was just not executed in an enjoyable way. I just couldn’t get myself to care about the characters or the story. Just too much going on :(

If the pitch “Lesbian necromancers explore a haunted gothic palace in [spaaaaaace]!” isn't enough to get you to read this book... probably it's not for you. This is a novel I did not know I wanted after seeing the necromongers in Chronicles of Riddick.

It took me three weeks to get through the first 30% of this and literally a day to finish it--definitely a slow burn until the haunted-gothic-space-palace part really kicks in. (Partially this can be blamed on a harsh book-hangover, but not entirely.)

I may or may not have been up until after midnight to finish this, knowing full well I needed to wake up at 5am the next morning for work. I have no regrets. I look forward to staying up all night to read HARROW this June.
