Disappointing Ending
Mediocre at best. Until, once again, the end. I’m not a writer, but I can’t believe it’s that difficult to write a good, plausible ending. Seems like the author just threw something together to get it finished. Overall, the characters were boring and unbelievable. The story line was creative, but it just didn’t go anywhere for me.

Overall just very uninteresting. I should've just DNF'd this but I really hoped it'd have a great twist. Characters were boring and not really dimensional. Its repeated over and over that an accident occurred like we could forget. Lots of empty paragraphs that could've been left out and used instead to tie up these ends that were mentioned like they meant something.
I listened to the audio book. The voice of the little boy was not only unbelievable, but annoying. The ending was left open, which I do NOT like unless there will be a second one. Many things did not seem to be needed, nor were they red herrings to lead you off track. It was fine.
An entertaining story but the characters left much to be desired. I found myself not liking any of them, they were all self centered jerks. The ending was mostly satisfying tho.

I was genuinely compelled by this book. It had a great twist ending, but I felt like it ended with too big of a cliffhanger. I also felt like the characters “history” wasn’t relevant enough to keep referencing in the story.

Liz is a basketcase. Owen's a little sh*t. Carole was careless with her most precious thing. What mother leaves a 3 year old by a body of water? I don't care if he was the most well-behaved child or not. Leaving a 3 year old alone even for a few minutes is not a good idea. I see the potential in this plot, but I guessed early on what was going to happen. The ensuing 200 pages were full of angst and hate. I wanted to try a Gregg Olsen novel. He is a good writer, I just think this plot wasn't the best.
I really enjoyed this book and only gave it 3 stars because I thought there should have been one more chapter. This book has a few twists and turns towards the end but the majority of the book centers around one poor decision that hurts a whole town. I love reading this author and have enjoyed a few other books.
It’s really 4.5 stars. I enjoyed the book but would have liked a little more closure.
