I’m kinda torn about this book, I really enjoyed the writing style, it flowed nicely and was witty with some relatable commentary. I enjoyed the non-plot of just following these two young girls in the summer in New York as they go out, make bad decisions and try and make money to pay the rent. There’s no real end goal which I enjoyed as it feels authentic to actually reading someone’s diary which is essentially how the book is written. Unfortunately, I found the two main characters quite annoying, I didn’t mind this at the start as I assumed they’d have some character development by the end of their adventurous summer but I didn’t really feel that. I also struggled a bit with all the side characters that came and went. Overall still definitely enjoyed the book and found it relatable, if you can deal with a realistic portrayal of slightly selfish and immature 21 year old girls I’d recommend the read. Would be a good beach read.

so much happens yet nothing at all has been accomplished. I don’t think I’m a fan of vapid yet self centered characters. I need my books to come with a plot, which this lacked. Head empty, just nyc broke hot girl summer vibes. Wouldn’t have finished this if I wasn’t reading it for book club. Sorry to say reading this felt like a waste of time
This book is fun but forgettable. I have a hard time deciphering the point - and there might not be one, but it was still fun to go back into the mindset and habits of a 21 year old.
DNF audiobook @ 56%.
