This is a top five favorite book in our house right now. My daughter has been asking me to read this to her almost every night since I brought it up. The illustrations and the story are so sweet and charming you can't help but love it.

Another bedtime, another Goodreads Choice picture book nominee. Interestingly, this is the 3rd Kids book we’ve read in the past 2 months that featured narwhals.

Adorable! The story is a sweeter version of the ugly duckling story but with narwhals and unicorns.

I absolutely adore this book! Easily one of my favorite picture books of all time. Kelp is adorable. Sima's message that your identity can be multiple things at once is timeless and important. Check out the other books in the series, Sima's other work, and the Not Quite Narwhal Netflix series for more!

The cover is pearlescent and the book title is iridescent! So beautiful I love it. Such a cute and heartwarming allegory for queer children and honestly any kid who felt like they are somehow different.

*I won this book in a GoodReads First Reads Giveaway*

So I thought this book was adorable and it came with stickers - it's going to make a good gift for my niece. The illustrations were really nice. I liked the message. My only complaint - and I know it's a weird one - is the font. It didn't quite fit the illustrations and on the darker pages, it was a bit hard to read. It's not enough to severely limit the enjoyment of reading it, and I think the target audience won't mind at all. But it was a bit distracting for me. Overall, a cute book for the little ones.
