It was not written well and the author didnt trust the reader at all.
All characters were so one dimensional. 250 pages and not one character had any..well..character. (Especially Theo, the love interest)
Everything happened in like, idk, 2 week span? The plot was ridiculous and also so very predictable. Nothing made any sense. I can see what the author was trying to mimick here. It wasnt great.
I love reading YA but this did not deliver at all. Even with a cute cover.

While there's a strong first half of the book, the rest of the book after the wedding seem like the author was trying to add conflict for the sake of having conflict. Don't get me wrong, I love the romance between Dylan and Theo, I just wished that the unnecessary conflict in the second half could have been more focused on Dylan trying to win the mooncake contest or even having the wedding as the climatic event before Dylan and Theo finally get together.

i dnf’ed this a little over a year ago and am incredibly glad i came back and finished it!! ended up really really liking this. the descriptions of food are awesome (i also just love books about food and cooking), and the romance was really sweet. the side characters were fun too!! although i did feel like Megan was pretty one note (her personality was kpop) and Tim wasn’t much better. honestly that’s my only complaint: some of the side characters were a bit flat. i’d definitely recommend this book though, despite that! it’s worth it for the food descriptions lmao.
