This was fun.

This was a cute, sweet m/m ya romance and it was fluffy and it was fine.

There was lots of baking (slay) and cute character dynamics but it was a *tad* OTT at points, and at bits I was just yelling at characters to ACTUALLY COMMUNICATE with each other, but you all know I live fake dating

I can't say that I DISLIKED this book, but I also didn't really like it either.
To start with, I'm kind of the opposite of a foodie so all the in depth food descriptions were absolutely lost on me.
I don't want to be controversial here, but I kind of hated Clover the corgi. I love animals but that dog was ridiculous. Acting overly smart and responsive to a ridiculous, childish cartoony extent. She really made it feel like a kids book.
There's kind of nothing between Dylan and Theo. They spent so little time together, the romantic feelings just come across totally unearned by the writing. The characters themselves are mildly interesting but the story really failed them all.
Super cheesy cliche ending that also didn't feel particularly earned. Everything was just rushed and shoved where the author wanted it instead of being led there through writing and plot.
Did I like Dylan and Theo? Yes. Did I cry multiple times? A tiny bit yes. And I love a gay teen romance with some Chinese representation so I don't really have any big reason to not recommend this. I just wasn't very impressed by it, it could have been so much better with a bit more time. Less food descriptions, more time actually fleshing out a story would have made this 10x better.

A fun romance book with a lot of delicious food. Its almost like "rich asains" but gay xD

I had so much fun listening to this book. Dylan and Theo were so cute together and I loved the mooncake contest!
