2.5 stars. i wanted to like it but it lost the plot. the first half was good but then it just got confusing and idk when things started happening and the writing style wasnt my personal favorite, but not objectively bad.

This was a super cute and cozy teen, queer, AAPI romance. No homophobia present, some microaggressions towards AAPI present.

Comprei por causa da capa, porque era bonita e por ser um casal gay (ADOROO). Mas não gostei muito então o 2,5. Acho que também foi baixa por eu ir com muita expectativa.

Mycket söt bok. Det var fin found-family känsla och Theo och Dylan var söta tillsammans. Var väldigt ytlig och därför får den inte en högre raring men väldigt söt och bra fast read. Deg enda minuset var att jag inte gillade att Theo flög hela vägen till Singapore. Förstod att det skulle vara en stor romantisk chest, men jag tyckte bara att det var överdrivet

 Pros: 
  • I am such a whore for fake dating I'm not gonna lie
  • this is so cozy, so comfy, so silly
  • but yet there is so much heart, remembrance of a loved one, reconnecting with heritage that was kept from you, recreating family recipes
  • I loved both Theo and Dylan so much. I can't single one out, they both felt so very real, with hopes and dreams and worries
  • this is firmly a romance book and so, as always, I fear the third act break up, but this one didn't piss me off, so hats off there
  • I want to eat all the food described in this book
  • I did cry, I'm just a gay little guy, sue me
 
Cons: 
  • too short. Gimme more

 Overall: This was short and sweet and heartwarming and a very good read. I do recommend.
