Fake Dates & Mooncakes was a book I've been looking forward to ever since I first saw the adorable cover! The author is incredibly kind and I've really enjoyed sharing this book often on my bookstagram and other socials.
This story is exactly what you imagine it to be just by the name, summary and cover. Its cute YA contemporary with a teenage romance that faces a variety of trials and struggles. While Dylan's attraction to Theo is almost instant (physically) there is perfect development where the feelings from both boys is more fleshed out and natural. So no "insta-love" really in my opinion! The book is also packed with cultural nods and information that I really enjoyed reading and learning from.
Dylan has a lot on his plate and the pressure and struggles just keep piling on with one thing after another. Enter Theo who has a seemingly perfect plan to help them both achieve what they're after. Their close proximity and working together throughout the book allows them to share some really sweet moments together that help them bond over their pasts and future goals and dreams. This book packs in a lot plot wise and things are constantly moving which keeps you engaged and eager to see what will happen next.
I really enjoyed this one, it was the perfect blend of what I like out of a story and I cant wait to see what Sher Lee writes next!

A sweet book but really Theo would have nothing really going for him if he wasn't rich and Dylan never had a critical thought about wealth.At the end Theo flew to Singapore, presumably by private jet and just introduced himself to his grandparents and he thinks this is a nice gesture.

I throughly enjoyed this book. This book addresses different issues such as econmics and classes, Asian culture and family
I really loved Dylan's relaionship with his family. He seems very caring and values his culture.
Theo is definitley very privilege but has a caring heart. It show in the way that he treats Dylan. There is some elistist behavioir coming frin his father and certain family members.
I would highly recommend this book for anyone who is looking for a LGBT, light-hearted and shot read.

I really enjoyed this book, despite how short it was it felt the perfect length. The pacing was really well done and it didn’t feel rushed in terms of plot. I did wish we’d got a few more scenes between the wedding and competition between Dylan and Theo trying to figure out what they were to each other exactly, maybe even a date or two perhaps. But the way their relationship was written felt natural and made sense. I loved the way family is explored in this book, I honestly kept tearing up at times. Dylan and Theo were so cute together and I loved getting to see their feelings for each other grow and them spending time together. It was really cute

What a fun and clever story of a gay romantic comedy. The heart felt story and culinary experience was so fun! I enjoyed every minute and my appetite grew with every min of the book. The narrator of the audiobook did a great job.
