This is entirely on me. I realized that this is a cute and wholesome story and I loved the importance of food as cultural identity but even after 50%, I just couldn't get into it.

Oh this is such a delightful book. Makes me hungry just reading it. Not that I want to make my own mooncakes, but I definitely need to seek them out when they become available, and eat some, though I doubt I’ll find any as good as Dylan makes in this lovely rom-com young adult romance.
Dylan works at his aunt's take-out. One evening, he has to also make deliveries, because they are down one driver. He does a meet cute with, what he presumes, is the boyfriend of his customer, Theo, because he is in his underwear, and calls him Baby. (Turns out they are just good friends, and he has called him BB, his nickname.)
The customer is pissed, however, that they got the order wrong, and writes a horrid review, which brings their ratings down, so Theo comes to apologize for his friend's behavior. And so begins the fake dating, because Theo wants to pretend he has a boyfriend so he won’t be bugged to get one, and Dylan goes along because he has fallen in love with him, so he has to pretend to be his boyfriend, while all the time wishing he was.
It is all quite cute. The writing is lovely, and even though it is a little crazy, it all makes sense.
Oh, and the mooncakes? Dylan is trying to create his late mother’s mooncake recipe for a contest with a foodie show, so that he can get publicity for his aunt’s place.
Highly recommended for those who love their rom-coms mixed up with cooking, and food, and delightful boys in love.

This book was adorable, it is very quick paced, but it is adorable, I think the only reason I give this 4 stars instead of 5 is because it was a bit slow in the begining but once we got to really see the crazy rich Theo is I was hooked. I do wish some of the conflict was dragged out more since we kind of brushed over the fact of how the miscomunication happened I just wish there were more coniquences like maybe more of a strain between Theo and the people since it was only a threat of blocking out of his life like bro just block them I don't know I just with the conflict was drawn out longer. Overall a really cute book I do reccomend it.
Es una RomCom que nos enamora desde las primeras páginas. Sumamente adictiva y que no podrán soltar.
I picked this up because it looked like a cute little fun read that I could finish quickly, and while it was all that, it was so much more! I loved the relationship between Dylan and Theo and I don't think the book was rushed at all. It went at a nice steady pace for how short it was and successfully developed. romance between the two all the while having such rich cultural importance imbued into the storyline. I loved that Dylans dream was to open his own shop and that the main angst behind the book was just recreating the recipe for mooncakes that his grandmother used. I am so appreciative of Sher Lees ability to write about queer asian representation and culture and not imbue her works with homophbia or racism. It makes for such a pleasant readers, hence why I hope to read many more of her works!
