Such a sweet novel! It made me feel warm and fuzzy inside đŸ„° Theo is a wonderful boy who just loves Dylan in ways everyone would wish for! A must read for teens. It’s simply sweet, dorky and heartwarming. The side characters will have a huge impact on you! You will absolutely love Aunt Jade, Meg, Tim, Terri and Theo’s aunts! The other ones, well, you’ll definitely get opinions! lol It’s a great book

Now, my main issue is that it certainly lacked a lot of depth due to them being minors. I think there were a lot of gaps in the stories because the writer /had/ to stick to the characterization. Many things would’ve made more sense if they were adults. Stuff like (spoilers!): Theo managing so much money (like the loan? hello???), them being able to stay at a hotel room?!, Theo’s dad being so PHYSICALLY absent, the shower in the middle of the room (😭😭???), the families being so cool with them running off to make out, Theo’s dad attitude towards Dylan (why are you beefing with a kid, bro? 😭), etc etc etc. It felt like the author wrote them off as being adults (20-23 year olds) and maybe the editorial made her change it???? I don’t know, it would’ve been much better if they were adults.

Overall, it’s a cute book. I do recommend it if you’re looking for something soft, easy to read and fun. There’s some things that don’t make sense but if you look past it and just enjoy the story, you’ll like it. Also, major bonus for all the history and culture you get from this book about different Asian cultures. It was wonderful and just so beautifully explained and done! Very well done! đŸ©”

incredibly predictable, but also very fun and sweet

3.25/5 ⭐

Picked it up as a light-hearted bedtime story and I thoroughly enjoyed it! It had just the right amount of cheesiness and I thought the characters were cute!

2.5⭐ I feel bad for rating this so low because it wasn’t a bad book but it just wasn’t for me personally. I had trouble keeping up with the story at times and it was a little confusing trying to figure out what was going on at times. I’m usually a fan of fake dating but I didn’t really like it that much in this book. Some of the characters also came out of left field and I was wondering why they were there at times bc they didn’t have a big impact on the story.

I just wanted to say again that it’s not a bad book per se but it just wasn’t for me!
