I'm a big fan of Riley Hart and Devon McCormick, but this one didn't blow me away - it's a solid 3.5 but I'm rounding down on it, just because I'm not feeling it quite as much as I normally do. I enjoy the chemistry and I enjoy the ground-laying for future books (but I can't be the only one who finds it a little weird that this college campus is going to have a bunch of stepbrother sets who end up falling in love? It is... a TINY BIT WEIRD, right???) but some of it was too angsty and the villainous dad needed a little shading and the addict brother needed a little more payoff if he was going to be included.
Not For Me
I honestly don’t understand how these two got into a relationship with each other. All there was was sex and even then it was pretty boring and repetitive sex. I felt like I was being told there was love and romance but I didn’t see it? Normally I can finish a book in a few hours but this one took me days because I just got so frustrated with it.
Also, why is EVERYONE WINKING.

Oh my gosh I loved these two men.
Atlas protecting his heart by not letting people see the real him broke my heart.
Angst was low right up to the end which was good, I knew the pain would be short lived!

Ummmm.. who knew stupid bets could turn out to be one of the best things for Troy and Atlas. This book was hilarious and aww inspiring.
Troy and Atlas have been stepbrothers since high school when their parents married. They got along surprisingly and always placed bets with one other as funny jokes and pranks. Now it's years later and they are in college placing another bet. Troy failed a test he studied hard for but is having trouble understanding it, and Atlas needs Troy for a charity event that will help raise money for a good cause. So, Atlas places a bet that if Troy could pass his test, he will give him a BJ and if he doesn't then Troy has to attend the event. Now Atlas knew this would motivate Troy, but he didn't think he could actually pass the test with an A, until he did.
That one night change these step bros for the better. Atlas was straight but always had feelings for Troy that he couldn't explain. This was kind of like his Bi-awakening story and it was beautiful. I loved how much Troy didn't push Atlas. He knew he was straight, and Troy was openly gay but there was just something about him that he couldn't get enough of. The Step Bet was beautiful, raw and of course HOT! I loved how much Atlas developed as a character. I feel like his story line was the roughest of the two and he bloomed into an amazing, possessive boyfriend. Troy became the perfect anchor for Atlas and Atlas was the comfort and support Troy needed.

I absolutely devoured this book. It has been in my TBR since it came out after reading reviews. I was so hesitant and I don’t know why it’s one of my fav tropes. But this was amazing!!’ Such a good story, so spicy… Troy and Atlas .. Swoon!!!

This was a genuinely sweet and heartwarming book. I absolutely loved how these two were with each other, despite having some rivalry and their whole "betting" thing going on. I feel like even when they didn't fully recognize how they were feeling, they were still very much there for one another, and it was oh so sweet. They definitely had their own way of being there, but it was wonderful all the same! I think these two really balanced each other out, and they both really kick-started the healing process in some way or another for each other.
I feel like there was a bit of a lull in this book, which is why it isn't quite a 5 star read... but overall, I just really enjoyed this book, and I absolutely can not wait for the next book! I hope it is Colin and Ash!

This feels like exactly an “you get what you paid for” book. Not like literally, since it’s on KU, but as in what you’d expect from theme and title. I enjoyed them and they were clearly just meant for each other. Something about the way Troy would refer to Atlas, my Atlas, my…just feel swoony. They were a good match of possessiveness too.

This was a good story that kept me interested until the very end. Troy and Atlas are a great frenemies to lovers couple. Being that they are in college their transition to more made sense as they were forced together at parties and other events. I am looking forward to reading the next book.
