The absolute whump of this story is killing me, it hurts so good. Insane lore drops and insane twists and turns. What incredible characters (the entire Chuyi/Yexue/Chenqing family drama is DESTROYING ME ) and I’m so excited to read more.

Could we give my boy Gu Mang a goddamn break. This is my favorite volume by far, and it's all thanks to the mutually intense secret yearning from Mo Xi and Gu Mang. Lots of angst, bat demon-fueled sex (it makes sense in context), and yet another painful flashback. I'm now locked in and invested, can't wait to continue the series.
