I loved Snow for Christmas (it was the main reason I picked up this book), and I enjoyed Midnights, but the other stories were a bit meh.

Delightful stories! And I got to revisit characters from Rowell’s previous novels, which was great.

Though it's not my favorite of her books, it was still very fun. Definitely will go over very well with fans of Rowell's books, particularly Fangirl, Eleanor and Park, and Carry On.

Scattered Showers is a collection of short stories about new connections and old ones that evolve into something more. Rowell is adept at writing about loveable nerds and new adults finding their way, and that really comes out with some of these. In my opinion, there wasn't a clunker in the lot, though the Simon Snow story felt more like a cookie thrown to fans than much of a story. That said, I can't see any Simon/Baz fans complaining a bit about that.

It's going to serve a bit as a time capsule as a couple of the pieces reference the pandemic. Though that wasn't really the main thrust of the story I think she did a fantastic job depicting the unique experience some people had trying to take recommended precautions while living in a state that was resistant to protocols.

A fun holiday read, since several of these take place over the holiday season.

The stories I really liked I really liked. The ones I didn't I didn't. There were some that I had hard time getting into. I probably only liked three of them in their entirety to be honest.

I read the Snow for Christmas story and felt it wasn't what I'd hoped for. I recently reread the Carry On series, and while it's a bit fluffy, it is my guilty pleasure. I suppose I was hoping to wrap up some loose ends from Any Way The Wind Blows, but I suppose Rainbow Rowell doesn't do that, which is fine, but I prefer my endings wrapped up. I plan to finish this collection at some point, but not feeling it right now
