This was sort of mediocre. It was not bad but also nothing special. It came recommended for fans of Sir Terry Pratchett and I feel that caused my expectations to be a lot higher. Except for one specific character I didn't feel any Pratchett vibes. Another  detail, even though I liked the main couple together, I would have loved seeing their relationship take the next level instead of them just talking about how they like each other.

When I started reading this, I had assumed that it was a standalone novel and not part of a series. Maybe if I had known that, I might not have felt lost in the beginning. It took me a while to really get stuck in.

It was fine but took sooo long to get to the point and when the points were made they were rushed through.

A funny and thoughtful crime thriller with sapphic characters, excellent plot, and some moments of nail biting tension. The language was a bit difficult at times but, once you're in the mind of Delly Wells, there you stay! It sucks you in and drowns out the real world until you turn the final page.

...Really thought this was the first book in the series, oops. But seems like book 1 is differen  people in a different city. Biggest complaint was that some things needed more explanation and the dialogue was hard to understand in the beginning for no good reason. Very funny writing if super linear and predictable major plot.

I thought this book was going to be a sequel to unnatural magic, and I was a little disappointed that it was not. That said, once I got over that I really enjoyed it. It’s the same world and I was happy to see the Author build on that. It was a little bit long in places, but the characters were lovable, and I was happy to follow them through their bumbling adventures.
