An enjoyable sequel, rounding the 4.5 down this time as there wasn’t quite the same strength tying the story together as in the first novel. Still a great read and something I’m sure they’d display proudly in the Old Bookshop.

A somewhat slow start made this almost a dnf, but by page 100 I was hooked. Very fun attention to details with the settings and set dressing, like weaponry. I also really appreciate how great characterisation through clothing description makes even side characters feel very real and interesting. Fin read, overall.
