Quite disappointing because I gave the Left-Handed Booksellers five stars.

- The pacing is all over the place.
- Susan has turned into an infuriating git who "just wants a normal life," refuses to do anything magical, and has also been downright horrible to Merlin for no reason.
- The first book had lots of lovely moments between characters, forming friendships and relationships. This second book had none of that and was missing all the heart that the first book did so well.
- Skipped over necessary scenes and instead just had characters relaying what had happened to others, while at the same time being extremely fucking detailed about what cars everyone was driving or what bloody guns they were using!

I'll still read the third book when it comes out but my god even if we could just have Susan return to her personality from the first book, I beg.

This was a very entertaining read with the right amount of humour and myth to progress the story along.
PLEASE, PLEASE, Mr Nix can we have some more, perhaps from the 'Curmudgeon Booksellers of Cardiff'?
Perhaps some more of the true land of magic and mystery.
The one character I feel that could have been utilized more is Vivienne as I preferred them to gungho Merlin.

Cons: Susan kept going on about wanting to just be normal when she, and the circumstances, were anything but normal.

Pros: She saved herself!
