This series is amazing. I cannot express enough how much I've enjoyed getting lost in the World After. Anxiously awaiting book 3, not sure what I can read for now that can compare to this awesomeness!

This is a review of the full series.

I’ve had these books on my shelf for so long that I don’t even remember why I picked them up. I may have read the synopsis, but since I didn’t know (or didn’t remember) a single detail about the series before I began reading, I’m going to assume that I pick them up because of the covers. They’re pretty intriguing. I decided to finally read this series, because I was in one of my random moods, so I picked a random book, and I need to do that more often, because damn, this series…

I loved this series! Overall, the Peryn and End of Days series is a thrilling and imaginative ride, and I was engrossed from the very first page (no lie!). Susan Ee created a world that's strikingly compelling and experiencing it through Penryn’s POV was an addiction I wasn't even trying to quit. I have a suspicion that Susan Ee is more than a little insane, but I love her twisted mind!

Angelfall, World After, and End of Days are in many ways in line with most YA formulas, but there's enough originality to make it fresh and irresistible. The first and last installments were my favorite, with book two still enjoyable, but less engaging for a romance lover.

In Angelfall we’re introduce to a Crazy with a capital C world right after angels from heaven land and cause chaos. The series doesn’t get into much explanation about the original attacks, but the imagery described in just the first few pages of the world the Penryn and her family now inhabit paint a vivid picture of a shell-shocked metropolis. The action is immediate, and from the very beginning I was pulled around on an insane journey with Penryn, the survivor who will do anything for her family, and Raffe, the wingless angel on a mission to get the world back in order.

This series doesn’t sleep. And depending on what you’re interested in, your level of engagement might wane, even though the plot always moves. In case you were wondering, I’m into romance. Book one was a slow burning fire that kept me turning the pages. I love action, violence, and intrigue as well—all of which are included in this series and never wane, but I love romance more. Angelfall gave me everything I wanted.

World After didn’t give me nearly enough romance. I liked most of this entry, but loved the ending more than anything else. World After ultimately did its job by making me want to dive into the final installment to find out what the hell was going to happen to these characters. The series continued to be a crazy, crazy ride, with the level of crazy intensifying with each page turned. I continued to love how original and thrilling this story was, but, Penryn and Raffe were separated for the *majority* of this book, and that was not cool. The last quarter was everything, though.

End of Days was
Spoilera satisfying conclusion for me. I wonder, though, if hardcore fantasy and paranormal lovers would be satisfied with the ending. I say this because it was a relatively short installment for all the loose ends that needed tying up. I felt the back story was a little weak, but I was invested enough in the two protagonists and seeing their story play out, that I didn't need perfect world building. End of Days was an exhilarating ride and I loved seeing all the captivating characters in full bloom.

Fans of action-packed, emotional, humorous, thrilling, twisted, manic reads will love this series. I can honestly say that there was never a moment when I was bored, even during the times I was frustrated with the emotional progress between Penryn and Raffe's relationship. I'd recommend this series to PNR lovers who've enjoyed Jennifer L. Armentrout or Karen Marie Moning. Susan Ee has grabbed my attention, and I am now a fan. I can't wait to see what her crazy, creative mind cooks up next.

Audiobook notes: I alternated between reading and listening to this series and recommend this as a good listen. A single narrator voices the many characters, and she does a good job translating this story, inflecting snark, humor, and intensity. Her male voices are awkward, but that's to be expected for anyone other than Davina Porter.

These books are pretty gruesome and I can’t get enough! If you were to take any YA dystopian series, like Divergent, and sprinkled in some angels and a bit of horror, you’d get these books and let me tell you, this ones leagues above Divergent. I loved the creepiness factor and all the characters. Penryn is feisty, Raffe is a badass with a goofy side, and Paige is just plain tragic. The horrifying elements of this story are just dark enough to make me cringe, but not so dark that it keeps me up at night.

World After was absolutely brilliant. Ms. Ee has exceeded my expectations for the sequel to Angelfall.

Wow. Magnificent story telling. Truly amazing.

I am desperately looking forward to book 3.

4.5 stars

This was fantastic! Darker than the first and so much more quickly paced (sorry awkward phrasing). I loved it!!! When I finished I couldn't believe it was over. The story was engrossing and THIS is the way to write a strong female lead. Definitely recommend and I'm not sure how I'm going to make it to the third book...

This is one of the best sequels I have read. I loved the first one so much that I didn't think it was possible for the sequel to be as good as it but I was amazing!!
The ending has to be one of the weirdest endings ever. Penryn, Paige and Raffe flying in amongst the locusts even though one almost killed Penryn in 'Angelfall'.
It's safe to say that both of the books in this series has changed my views on angels. When I hear of angels I no longer think of peacefulness or angels looking out for us. I now think angel swords and apocalypse.
I can't wait until the new book comes out next year!

So I just finished reading after world and anyone who has read the first book Anglefall can understand the excitement at discovering where the story will lead with Penryn, Raffe and surprisingly the supposed apocalypse the Angels kept raving about.

As much as I hate to say this I was a bit disappointed. In my opinion the story was slow and dragged quite a bit at the beginning I think too much time was spent trying to describe the nature of these so called locust or scorpion angels. Especially with most of the events happening at alcatraz (read the book and you will understand) . And Penryn I find was battling with a bit of hero syndrome which to me was a bit annoying. Don't know why thats soo important just save the people.
For me the story only picked up and got really interesting towards the end of the book as I was quite eager to get into the action. I’m eager to find out if Raffe gets his wings back and also what happens and what changes when he does. Was sad it was over so soon. And Penryns sister is meant to be important and i now have to wait almost another year to find out how.
In all it was a great read. Entertaining and as always some great penmanship from Susan Ee.

2/3 of the way through this trilogy and I still have no freaking clue what's happening! It's a fascinating world and the characters are more fully fleshed out this time around. Some of the twists come out of left field and seem completely at odds with where the narrative originally was going. For whatever reason that just makes it more and more exciting to read. Hard to put down despite how much I hate it at times!

I NEED THE THIRD BOOK!!!!!
