I enjoyed the start of (hopefully)this multi book series. Carolyn Kang narrated this audiobook & exceeded my first time expectations listening to her. She humanized Kat, Olivia and Elle - making me eager to follow along as the trio tries to find out … who exactly killed the victim ?
The ending was a twist I didn’t see coming so that was a great surprise. I lowkey do wish the podcast portions of the episode felt a little more podcast-y (possibly have another voice being Mandy’s POV & add a little music /flare) Overall though, a worthy read to binge right away.

There's quite a bit of toilet humor (if it even counts as humor... just a lot of poop and pee) in the book, especially when they're getting their revenge. At first I was like OK, but then it started to be like OK so gross lol.
You also can't analyze too much about the book handles the investigation. And the way the women (mostly Kathryne) just go gaga for the detective because he's so extremely hot. Their nicknames for him just makes me roll my eyes lol.
It was an enjoyable listen despite all that.

There are moments that are legitimately laugh out loud. The lead characters feel like women you’ve met before . It’s not a perfectly crafted whodunnit but it’s one of those books that is the perfect book for when you need it. Perfect for fans of Elle Cosimano’s Finlay Donovan series and Jesse Sutanto’s mysteries.
I alternated between audio and the e-galley. The audiobook narration is well done with each character having a very distinct voice, which I always appreciate in audio. Seamless and well-paced.

It was funny at the start but then all there characters started to get so annoying!
