very open and honest about addiction and mental health. fun to get to know more about him and how his life inspired chandler's character. it hurt to hear about his dreams and future plans, especially so close to his death.

the book itself had a lot of repetitions/jumps back and forth and it's hard to follow, it's lacking structure and definitely needs another round of editing

This happened to become available at my library the week after Matthew Perry died. As a huge Friends fan, I felt I had to read it. The book is about addiction, it’s sad. I had to take breaks and switch back and forth with a more lighthearted book, and now am glad to be done with it.

Well.. it's an autobiography so I don't feel like I can really criticize the content. But it still felt a little lengthy and repetitive. Due to the time jumps it was sometimes not clear to me which period or withdrawal Perry was talking about, but I guess it didn't really matter because the message was clear - he's an addict and relapsed again, until he didn't anymore in the end. I didn't really like how many times he pointed out just how famous he was/is, how successful Friends was and how much money he earned. I also don't know why he chose to say that a friend died and Keanu Reeves is still alive, it was deeply irritating and somebody should have told him before publishing.
