I have always loved Matthew Perry. He was beautiful and hilarious and one of my absolute favorite actors. This book broke my heart but made me love him even more as a person. He was real and in his words ‘bent’ and overly apologetic but he lived to make other people smile. I wish I could rate this a million stars.

i really didn’t know much about matthew perry

very candid book with his life of addictions, more eerie with his passing.

eye opening how his entire life revolved around the “big terrible thing”… addiction. most of his self legacy was tied to his addiction
funny sad slow-paced

Marty is a great writer. You can hear his voice. My review isn’t reflective of the quality of the book, rather my own experience with someone I love suffering from an alcohol addiction and this book being chosen by my book club.

I finally got around to this book. I listened to the audiobook, and it absolutely gutted me. I knew this was going to be tough to listen to, and I was right. I'm still glad I listened to it though.

I can't in good faith give this book a rating.

The book was well written. It is an interesting and yet frustrating story.  He had the ability to gain access to all sorts of resources. The sickness of addictions is what is so frustrating.

Wow! :( I both loved and hated this book! It made me want to cry and laugh.
