This book is a difficult read - addiction is brutal and the narrative repetitive - but the most frustrating part is the author himself, who may be brutally honest in the facts, but seems incredibly emotionally immature. I found Perry to be self-centered and unsympathetic, particularly in his treatment of women and his seeming inability to take true accountability for himself.

This book was heartbreaking, sad, inspiring and funny all at once!

Matthew Perry has had a rough life but also with a lot of great moments. I think he tells his story in a way, so that you don’t necessarily feel sorry for him but you cheer for him throughout the book.

Friends has been my absolute favorite show for many years and even if I’ve never really had a clear favorite character Chandler Bing has always had a special in my heart, because of his sarcasm and way of making jokes. So to know that is a reflection of Matthew Perry makes it more special.

Also,
knowing that the cast of Friends actually became close from the beginning and really had a great time with show makes it even more special.

The book is written with no blame towards anybody but himself, a lot of self reflecting and lessons and a lot of humor - and that makes this a good book.

Matthew Perry is a great writer, this was a very interesting and sad read. It was honest and showed the best and the worst of Matthew Perry. Whilst not the point of the book it was also very interesting to read more about Friends, like David Schwimmer wanting everyone to make the same amount of money.

A sad story of Matty's challenging life of addiction, I enjoyed the read. Simple and quick.

An interesting look at Perry’s slide into addiction to pills and alcohol. He doesn’t hold back, shares everything the good, bad and ugly. At times he sounds like he’s bragging about the number of famous women he’s dated, the amount of money he has wasted…but you soon realize that he’s just laying all his cards on the table.
