Such a better improvement from the last one, but a lot less thrilling. The characters have grown on me so much, but I’ve also learnt to identify the plot devices the writer used, so it’s not so much mysterious as the last one.
Did found a little annoying the repetition of certain memories, lines and thoughts. I know sometimes it’s necessary, particularly in long books but I think it got a little out of hand sometimes. Overall a good second book, hope it gets better in the next one!

I don’t know how to say this, but the narrator of this audiobook is a PROBLEM.
He just doesn’t have the variety of voice acting chops to give each character an individual voice, so he settled for giving them an accent to differentiate them.
And Gordo’s accent is Fine, I think it fits him, his surly, don’t-talk-to-me-like-that personality. BUT. As a full audiobook narration, oooh, oooh, oooh my god it gets old fast. I can hear how much the narrator is giving it his ALL - but it’s just - the book would be so much better if he could read it NATURALLY and not be trying so hard to do the Gordo voice.
Even though the narrator is a challenge to overcome.
I think this is an amazing book.

I love hanging out in the Green Creek series, I love the Bennet Pack, and I love the trope of “mates” but make it gay.

My problems from the first book return in this one with the constant repetition of certain lines that get to the point where it feels like I'm beaten over the head with them.
HOWEVER that being said I enjoyed this a lot more than the first one, and I enjoyed the first! The character of Gordo is really interesting and the conflicts of his past and present mix together in a great way. The romance is tense and I loved it. I also love the deeper world building and character development. The second book cements Green Creek as a tangible world.
One other thing that grated was the villains. My god they insufferable and I get that's the point but they were a little like. Flat in their evilness. I feel like if a villain is going to be flat out evil then they gotta at least be funny! Anyway excited to read more.

RELECTURA
Según Goodreads hace sólo cinco años que me leí "Ravensong" por primera vez, y sin embargo es un libro que me pegó tan fuerte que yo estaba convencida de que llevaba conmigo muchísimo más tiempo. Y como no podía haber sido de otra forma, en la relectura me gustó no igual, no, creo que lo disfruté incluso más.
Es un placer volver a reencontrarse con estos personajes, con estos libros que me enseñaron que las historias cimentadas en las relaciones humanas de todo tipo también podían ser para mi. Que puedes encontrar tu familia y tu lugar feliz no solo en la gente de su sangre y que son los lazos con estas personas queridas las que nos mantienen anclados a la humanidad. Porque si hay algo en lo que insiste muchísimo la saga Green Creek es en la importancia de cuidar, proteger y respetar a nuestros seres queridos. Y sí, "Ravensong" se abre bastante en cuanto a trama respecto a "Wolfsong", mete muchísimos más hilos de los que tirar en los siguientes libros y para mi es una novela incluso más completa y compleja que su predecesora. Pero no se olvida de lo importante, de lo que hace para mi tan especial a esta saga, que es la profundidad de sus personajes.
Siendo una historia en ocasiones tan dramática, puedo recordar con cariño todos los momentos en los que me hizo reír, porque estos libros son uno de los mayores "lugares felices" que yo tengo dentro de la ficción. Siempre digo que se siente como un abrazo al corazón, y que no va a ser esta la última vez que vuelva a ellos.
Siendo una segunda parte no quiero decir demasiado para no entrar en spoilers, pero creo que sí que puedo decir que, mientras que "Wolfsong" se centraba un poquito más en el desarrollo de personaje de Ox, este lo hace en el de Gordo. Cada libro lo hace con un personaje, pero sin olvidarse nunca del resto, igual de importantes.
No voy a mentir, me apetece muchísimo ponerme con "Heartsong" ahora mismo. Me releería la saga del tirón sin dudarlo un instante... Pero la pila de pendientes me mira con agresividad, así que voy a intentar espaciarla un poquito. Dudo que me resista mucho tiempo.

No encuentro una explicación objetiva para que esta saga me guste tanto. Siempre digo que los libros cuya trama principal gira en torno a los personajes, las relaciones (sean románticas o no) entre ellos y su evolución no suelen ser lo mio. Y entonces llegó Wolfsong y me encantó.
Y pensaba que quizá me había pillado en un momento algo más ñoño y que sus continuaciones no me gustarían tanto. Pero llega Ravensong y me gusta AÚN MÁS.
Yo no sé qué tienen estos libros, que clase de droga chunga mete TJ Klune entre sus palabras, pero son mi debilidad.
La trama no es excesivamente enrevesada (aunque en este segundo libro se complica y sí va cogiendo más profundidad), pero es la forma que tienen los personajes en interactuar entre sí, la ternura y sensibilidad con la que todo está narrado, lo que engancha tanto y te llega al corazón.
En esta segunda parte cambia el punto de vista y seguiremos la historia con Gordo, después de conocer su pasado. Y a pesar de que era un personaje que tampoco me mataba en el primer libro, consiguió convertirse con Ravensong en uno de mos favoritos.
Como he dicho, la trama también se vuelve más compleja en esta segunda parte. El autor introduce varias tramas que hacen la lectura más ágil e interesante y que deja abierta la puerta a que todo se desarrolle aún más en la tercera parte. Wolfsong termina de forma bastante cerrada, pero no es el caso de Ravensong, que te deja con bastantes ganas de ir a por el tercero.
Pues eso, que me ha encantado. Que quiero seguir leyendo más y más sobre estos personajes y no quiero que nunca jamás le pase nada malo a ninguno de ellos.
