YALLLL THE MILF BOOK DID NOT DISAPPOINT!!
But for real, this book was hyped up so much and IT WAS WORTH IT. I loved it, and yeah, there was definitely a little bit of rushing at the end, and I think both Cassie and Erin could’ve communicated better (both, like, the two of them, and with others about their relationship). But that didn’t really take away from my enjoyment of the story. Meryl Wilsner is doing the dang thing and I love it.

The problems in Meryl Wilsner's debut - namely the absurdly slow burn, the "don't talk to one another" drama - are certainly missing in this one. From nearly page one we get some seriously spicy, hot AF lesbian sex and it never lets up. I really enjoyed the banter and the way they show us the connection between Erin and Cassie. This felt like a big step up for them (and I say that as someone who really liked SOMETHING TO TALK ABOUT).
Okay, on the one hand, I can't fault the writing. The romance was exciting and interesting, with lots of potential peril, and the sex scenes were steamy. But the path and the outcome of the whole scenario was pretty ludicrous and unbelievable, absolute kink wish fulfillment. There's just no way this scenario would turn out this way! Don't try this on your friends' moms!
DNF. First of all the audacity to have the mom to a freshman be 38. I am 42 and not old enough to have a kid in college!! While the book started out with a literal bang, I could not get past the relationship dynamic of sleeping with your best friends mom/daughters best friend.
the only two people getting me through this book were erin and parker. literally fuck cassie i did not like her at all. the fact that she was blaming everyone else but herself when shit went wrong?? like pls ur a grown woman you can own up to your own mistakes.
this was very disappointing, if cassie wasn’t such a bitch and wasn’t so annoying i would have loved this

I liked this book well enough but I didn’t love it, hence the 3 instead of 4 stars. The story itself is well written and has a fair a bit of lesbian spice to it which was fun to read. I had trouble relating to the characters though so that was the drawback for me.
I loved this book. I laughed and I cried. I love a good spicy romance with a sappy happy ending. It gave me all the feels. ALL OF THEM.
Let me start off by saying: this book was soooo much more steamier than I thought.
Now for the story: this was really interesting, the age gap honestly made me so uncomfortable because like, Cassie COULD BASICALLY BE HER DAUGHTER.. I mean what ?????? That was a hard pill for me to swallow. Aside from that however, Cassie and Erin had a lot of chemistry and their banter and flirting was cute.
I didn’t like Parker for a good chunk of the book, she was such a spoiled brat, I just couldn’t stomach her. She ended up growing on me though. I also didn’t like Erin and Cassie sneaking around and lying to her for literally the entirety of the book. Which Parker handled PERFECTLY in my opinion, because I don’t know what I would’ve done if that happened to me.
But alls well that ends well. And the epilogue was CUTE AF.
This was a quick, STEAMY read. ⭐️⭐️⭐️.5
Thanks St. Martin’s Press and Netgalley for the eARC.

Only 2 stars, I’m sorry to the fans of this book it just wasn’t for me. Though I didn’t personally enjoy this I would recommend if you were looking for a spicy sapphic forbidden romance romcom.
I wanna give this a necessary disclaimer, which is that I deliberately read this as a pallet cleanser in the middle of a high fantasy trilogy which I am loving, so part of me was trying to get this over with to get back to the trilogy.
On to my review, I wasn’t a big fan of either main character, I didn’t think they had chemistry, the smut was somehow boring and I wasn’t rooting for their relationship at all.
On the (small) plus side, there were some funny bits, I appreciated Cassie accidentally making a ‘ur mum’ joke to Parker except she wasn’t joking, and the queer representation with the main and side characters was enjoyable.
