3.82 AVERAGE

It’s so hard thinking of a rating for this book, but imma go with 3.5 for now. It might change later. I think it was mainly the writing style — the 3rd person that I didn’t vibe with. Normally I don’t mind but it felt a bit difficult to connect with the characters. This was cute and the ending was so sweet. I’m also envious… like me and who?

I was dying to read this book ever since I saw it in a post about upcoming sapphic books. The Libby waiting list took years off my life tbh.

This book was absolutely fan-f*cking-tastic!!! I mean truly it had everything I love in a book. Gay? ✅ Age gap? ✅ Forbidden love? ✅ Pining? ✅ SEXY? ✅ DO I NEED TO GO ON????

I knew from the first few chapters this was going to be fantastic and that I would love every minute of it. And I did. Oh I did.

It was funny and had me laughing out loud but also sexy and I had to put the book down because I was blushing. These characters were SEXY y’all!!

Plus, I was genuinely surprised by some plot points and the climax had my jaw on the floor! I couldn’t believe it!!

So if you are looking for a sapphic romance with some spice and a ton of mutual pining, not only is this the book for you but it’s the book to tell all your friends to read!!

One of the best books I read all year, seriously!!

craziest most unrealistic plot ever. had a handful of cute moments when you think about them out of context. but can't get over the ridiculousness of the concept. maybeeee 3.5/5 if we're feeling generous

I thought the concept was kinda wild and fun, I did overall enjoy the book, but its never not gonna weird that you started sating your best friend’s mom.

Idk how else to explain this other than this book had so much potential to be bad but instead it was perfect and those exceeded expectations make it even more perfect

This was absolutely DELIGHTFUL my god I love Erin and Cassie so much this book make me feel all of the feelings. Wow oh my god

finding out this author write something to talk about, another book I'd absolutely loved made so much sense.

like it wasnt too long, there werent any drawn out, unnecessary conflicts. the secret relationship was enticing. the friendships made and treasured from beginning to end? such a beautiful 3rd act and ending?? like i even want to reread something to talk about as well because she really has the best low stakes writing but like everything still feels important.

first 5 out of 5 of 2025 for SURE (oh amd the smut? hubahubba

Thank you to Net galley for sending me this e-arc!

I thoroughly enjoyed this! The chemistry between Erin and Cassie was unreal and i truly thought that they were meant for each other. The taboo romance in this book also was less uncomfortable it than I thought it would be. I do think that Parker could have been more involved in the plot but this was definitely just a romance with smut and a little dash of conflict to spice up the plot. I liked that Cassie was battling with the decision of what she wanted to do postgrad for most of the book but I really disliked the fact that she barely touched on why she chose MIT over Caltech at the end and just said it was “because of Acacia” meanwhile she depicts herself to be this fully independent woman for the entire book. Same goes for why she kept it from Parker for so long even after Parker began to distance herself from Cassie. Overall I think this was a fun, steamy romance that honestly helped me get out of a reading slump. I would give it a solid 3.75 stars, rounded up to 4 stars.
