finding out this author write something to talk about, another book I'd absolutely loved made so much sense.

like it wasnt too long, there werent any drawn out, unnecessary conflicts. the secret relationship was enticing. the friendships made and treasured from beginning to end? such a beautiful 3rd act and ending?? like i even want to reread something to talk about as well because she really has the best low stakes writing but like everything still feels important.

first 5 out of 5 of 2025 for SURE (oh amd the smut? hubahubba

Thank you to Net galley for sending me this e-arc!

I thoroughly enjoyed this! The chemistry between Erin and Cassie was unreal and i truly thought that they were meant for each other. The taboo romance in this book also was less uncomfortable it than I thought it would be. I do think that Parker could have been more involved in the plot but this was definitely just a romance with smut and a little dash of conflict to spice up the plot. I liked that Cassie was battling with the decision of what she wanted to do postgrad for most of the book but I really disliked the fact that she barely touched on why she chose MIT over Caltech at the end and just said it was “because of Acacia” meanwhile she depicts herself to be this fully independent woman for the entire book. Same goes for why she kept it from Parker for so long even after Parker began to distance herself from Cassie. Overall I think this was a fun, steamy romance that honestly helped me get out of a reading slump. I would give it a solid 3.75 stars, rounded up to 4 stars.

spicyyyyy

There comes a time in life when you must subject yourself to the smuttier side of literature, and subject myself I did. This book is easily 60% graphic sex scenes or discussion of sex, and the other 40% was plot holes, poorly written characters, and scenes that didn’t contribute to the overall story. Eventually, the sex bogs down the story and kills the plot. The ending was a huge let down to what otherwise could’ve been a really big, explosive moment. If smutty reads are something you’re into, this is for you. But as someone who cares more about the plot, this book fell short for me. Was this book well written? Definitely not. But Wilsner for sure knows how to write a dirty sex scene.

There wasn’t much plot

I enjoyed this one. The romance was cute. Some super spicy sex scenes. I just felt like it was just a little bit of a slow read that I wanted to hurry up and end already.

Thank god I finally found this book after 30 years of searching
