I don't really know what to say about this one. The beginning was brutal. It was the same thing page after page-- "I can't do this, but I really want to. This is wrong, but feels so right." For the better half of the book, I didn't feel like there was enough of a plot. BUT, the end was enjoyable! The last ~30% had a cute, intriguing storyline that I enjoyed. The expected act three conflict wasn't as I expected, which might have been for the better. All and all, I liked how it wrapped up-- cute and sweet and wholesome.
(Forever wishing I could do half stars-- 2.5 feels much more appropriate.)

This book was SO GOOD. Definitely need to buy it now so I can go back to it again and again.
Spicy!!! But almost ridiculously so, after a while it was like - really, again??
I found this book nerve wracking as the main characters continued to be stupid and nearly get caught so many times. The ending with Parker being ok with their relationship felt way too rushed and not only was she cool with it, but also encouraged them to kiss, sleep together, just felt completely unrealistic for an 18 year old, who had painted as a bit immature the rest of the book.
That being said, the ending was sappy and cute cute which is always fun. Just couldn’t get over the ridiculousness of it sometimes
Love love love!!! This story was fast paced and so intriguing that I didn’t want to put it down. I wasn’t sure how I was going to feel about the best friend’s mom trope but I think this was written really well. Meryl Wilsner really knows how to write sapphic books that I thoroughly enjoy!

“Cassie,” Erin said again. She had forgotten every other word.
I've been thinking about this book a lot lately, and I wondered if it would hold up for me. I do think of it as one of my favourite romances, but it's been three years since I read it, and feelings can change.
Happily, if anything, I loved this even more than I did the first time. I gave it 4.5 stars on the first read, and this time, I really can't think of any reason it shouldn't get the full 5 stars. I adore Erin and Cassie so much, and the author truly made me fall for them. And this has a couple things I usually don't like in romances; insta-lust, primarily. And yet I still adored it. I loved everything about the trajectory of the romance, how the conflict was handled, the found family and secondary relationships. Rereading this made me SO happy, ugh. Smiling from ear to ear the whole time.
Listened to the audiobook as read by Stephanie Nemeth Parker and Quinn Riley again; loved it just as much. I'm already looking forward to rereading this again.

It hadn’t even been thirty-six hours since they last kissed. But she did miss it, the way Erin kissed and laughed and held on like Cassie was strong, but she was going to be gentle, anyway.
4.5 stars. My entire body feels like a riot of butterflies. This was so good, so sweet, so sexy, and gave me everything I want from a romance. I think everyone is calling this the MILF book, which, let's be honest, is one of the reasons I was drawn to it. And it definitely deserves that title! But what makes this a good book is the fact that that trope isn't the thing on my mind now that I've finished it. I just adore this couple whooooleheartedly. The author wrote them so well, made their personalities shine so much, and it truly made me believe that they were the perfect puzzle pieces for one another.
Best friend's mother is a trope that I will try anytime, and unless I am forgetting something pretty big, I think this has to be my favourite book with that trope. It does a lot of things right that make it stand out and just make the delivery of the plot all together smoother. The most noteworthy thing is something that would probably be considered a spoiler, but what I'll say is that I really love the way the author handled the third act conflict, if it can really be called that in this book. To get into some spoilery detail:
But back to the reason why I really love this book and why it really worked for me: Cassie and Erin. Absolutely made for each other. From the one night stand to all the furtive meetings and texts to the eventual realisation of feelings, they made me giddy all the way. I felt like I was reading about fully-realised people, not just characters or caricatures. Neither of them had all the answers, they were messy and made mistakes (zing), but it was all extremely realistic. It was realistic when Erin kept flip-flopping it back and forth. It was realistic when Cassie made some bad or impulsive decisions. And it was really realistic about the pacing and trajectory of the relationship. All of their interactions were so easy and so cute, and the chemistry was amazing. God, all their dates and moments together... I loved reading about them fighting their sexual tension, and I loved reading about them giving into it. And I really appreciated that the author spent a goodly amount of time developing the other relationships in the book too. The friendships and familial relationships were just as important.
Listened to the audiobook as read by Stephanie Nemeth Parker and Quinn Riley and I think I have two new favourites. Sometimes when you're listening to an audiobook with two narrators, it can get frustrating, because the voices that they do for each other's characters don't always totally match up. I didn't have that problem at all in this book. Both narrators had their own unique voices for Cassie and Erin. But when they were doing each other's voices, it didn't sound strange or off. I loved everything about their performance; they made the book even funnier and sexier.
Wilsner's debut didn't really look like my thing, but I guess I'm going to have to try it now. This was just wonderful. Absolutely recommended.
