This was a fun cozy mystery. While not super unique or memorable, it was a very fun popcorn style read. The mystery was fun, the characters lovable and sympathetic and the setting was cozy and atmospheric. I really enjoyed the multiple points of view as it added a bit of a different perspective to the mystery.

I'll admit I chose this book for the title alone - and was not disappointed!

This was my first time reading a book by Brandy Schillace and it will not be my last. I was pleasantly surprised that the lead character, Jo Jones, is neurodivergent (autistic)/hyperlexic which is another first for me to read in a fiction book. As a retired teacher and school counselor, I found the descriptions, mannerisms, and characteristics of Jo's to be similar to several of the students on my caseload.

Within about a years time, Jo lost her job as an editor, was blindsided by a divorce, faced the illness and death of her mother, and moved to England when she inherited Ardemore House. It's suspenseful and entertaining with a touch of the old-fashioned "who-dun-it" thrown in. The supporting characters are quirky and for the most part likeable (you know there's always "that one" character!).

I will definitely be reading more books by Schillace! And I was taken aback by her credentials - a PhD in History, Medical Humanities, and Literature. Wow.

Enjoyable and well crafted. It moved quickly but the pacing was a bit odd. Seemed to drag and then would be rushed. Really enjoyed the characters the protagonist is annoyingly funny at times, but the addition of another equally odd character is a good addition. Keep hoping the detective would move out of his self-absorbed mania.
