Part I of Josh McKinley and Emily's (Emmy) book.  Josh is Dean's younger brother from book #3 in the Merge series.

Omg, this story is so great. It's a great dark romance with suspense aspect to it. But there is some trigger in the story so if anyone cant read anything sexual acts, profanity, and violence I would advise not to read this story.

This story is well written and flow nice. This story is a easy read and when you have time you could easily read this story in one seating. The heat in this story is so good, and was amazing. This story is left on the cliffhanger and i cant wait to read the next story of the amazing series.

Great read and I absolutely loved it. Such a good story.

Ruining Her contains scenes and discussions about non-consensual sexual acts, profanity and violence.

Ruining Her is a book that gains your attention from the first page and I do indeed caution you to pay attention to the trigger warnings as the events that take place from the first page. I confess I found it hard to read initially due to just how well Kylie Kent writes but was determined to get past the initial difficult events that happen to Emily.

I liked how we went from the present day to back when Emily is a teenager and encounters Josh on her first day. The two are polar opposites, and despite Emily's initial instinct that they will be best friends, Josh has other plans because he's dangerous in ways Emily could never imagine. She's a breath of fresh air in his world, and in his own often twisted way Josh tries to protect her from pretty much every boy in school and his presence even briefly in her life means girls become her friend - ensuring a girl who could never belong, has a place - a sanctuary even from Josh himself.

As we fast forward from their teenage years and Emily is running from a life that has kept her like a bird trapped in a gilded cage. She has held onto the promise that if she ever truly needs Josh? He will be there for her, and trust me she really needs someone who is unequivocally in her corner. Someone who will do everything for Emily, or Emmy as he called her and protect her from everything because she's the one person who makes him feels something other than hate, mistrust and every other negative emotion imaginable.

Kent weaves a story so well, that despite everything Josh does, no matter how dangerous he is? You cannot help but see that his love for Emmy is pure - perhaps it is his way of seeing the world in only black and white that makes him capable of such love.

Ruining Her ends on a Hell of a cliffhanger, you will be left wanting more and I hope that the sequel will provide answers and salvation for both Emily and Josh who desperately need to experience peace.

Ruining Her by Kylie Kent – Josh tortured Emily in high school, but he didn’t let anyone else be mean to the new girl. When her world falls completely apart, her first instinct is to run back to the boy who broke her heart. Take those trigger warnings seriously, but boy do these two need therapy! Happy Reading!

This was my first read from this author and I wasn’t sure what to expect but let me tell you this story packed a punch full of angst, spice and romance. A fantastic second chance romance with some great twists and turns to keep your heart rate up. Emily has been through so much and her world has be cover in darkness and yet she was still strong and feisty and never gave up. Kyle and and Emily were destined for one another. The chemistry between these two were off the charts. After the ending we are left with I’m dying to get my hands on the next book.. 100% recommend!!

This book was absolutely phenomenal!!

The writing was flawless! It was detailed, suspenseful, and completely intoxicating. Emily and Josh’s story was full of intense, passion-filled moments. But also trauma, sadness and vulnerabilities.

Despite the years that have passed, the flame between Josh and Emily has only grown stronger and brighter. The chemistry between these two characters is off the charts! They’re like a moth to a flame. Drawn to one another inexplicably. The protectiveness and devotion they each feel for one another is awe-inspiring. The lengths they would go to to protect, cherish and love one another is truly beautiful.

This story was fabulously original and kept me on my toes from beginning to end. I was completely captivated by the story as it unfolded. I’m am waiting for book 2 with bated breath!
