Oh my god

4 ⭐️ a classic, wanted to read this since the longest time! It wasnt exactly what I thought it would be but in a good way, I really enjoyed the writing style as well

The only reason I gave this book even 2 stars was because it reminded me to run to my girls and and have another, way to important talk about predators. Why this book is considered a classic or has been listed as “books everyone should read” is beyond me. What a disgusting piece of filth.

A magnificent book told from the perspective of a horrible, vulgar, disgusting man. Also part of my literary canon as realising the absurdity of the romanticisation of this book is what made me critical of at least 90% of things I encounter on the internet.

Also I will be mad at anyone suggesting it was Lolita (a 12-year-old) who seduced Humbert Humbert.
Even the narrator himself confesses at the end of the novel how he would give himself thirty-five years for rape; it is completely ridiculous to see it any other way. Again, she was twelve.
