Cycle of the Werewolf

This novella is a quick and fun read, but lacks the punch of other King works. There was nothing particularly wrong with the book, but I found it to be forgettable overall.

An interesting read, a full novella told through multiple short stories that stand alone by themselves. I enjoyed the progression of realization for the antagonist throughout. Itnwas also interesting to see it tie back and resolve with the boy, though I'm curious if silver bullets were necessary or if that was just the kids imagination playing into it especially after the fireworks attack earlier.

Three stars for the story itself, which is fun but slight, plus a bonus star for the gorgeous artwork.

This is a really intense, really quick read with spectacular illustrations. It has a great theme of dis(ability), and King's typical efficient portrayal of small-town life, but doesn't quite pack a punch character-wise. There are probably 30 characters in this book named, none explored except Marty.

I read this in middle school and happened to find it at my local library recently. I needed a quick, easy read so I tore through it. A fun concept and I can see why middle school me loved it. The only month that I remembered vividly was February, for some reason the image for that month was seared into my brain (probably because it’s a beautiful woman).

Idk, it’s not the worlds best short story by any means, but sometimes it’s nice to revisit those pieces that sparked your interest in certain genres.

Genuine question though, is Stephen King allergic to not using the N-word?

I had no idea that this was the story for Silver Bullet, a movie that I highly enjoyed! That being said, I thought this was an excellent short story with simple, yet profound illustrations. I loved the moments where we things from the werewolf's POV and Marty is now one of my favorite characters in the Stephen King universe. A great story to spend a afternoon.

2.5, Again, written really well & engaging story. However, it was quite a short and simple book.
