I hadn't ever read this one until today. It was really good. I liked the storyline and of course the nods to other books. I now have to watch "silver bullet" The illustration was also beautiful

Buenísimo. Me entretuvo seguir la historia del “malo” y del pueblo. Podría haber sido más largo. Las ilustraciones hermosas.

This is a really good short story, and the art accentuates it nicely. Despite the length, it's not long enough to call novella, really. You'll read it within an hour or two. But it packs a good punch. And in so few pages, he can bring a small town to life. I must say, though, that the dad is really over the top.

I do wonder why King had so much fat-phobia in his early works, not to mention women who are sad because they don't attract men. The narrative would be so much better without that.

Really short, quick read. But hell did I enjoy it. I was amused by the reveal and applaud the ending.

After a YEAR AND FOUR DAYS it gives me unbelievable amounts of satisfaction to say that I have FINALLY finished Cycle of the Werewolf. Fantastic novella with some brilliant artwork, a fun atmosphere and interesting structure (as unrealistic and repetitive as it is) that only took me so long to read due to a plethora of reading slumps and distractions. One of King’s most underrated and unique works!

The Wrightson illustrations of the seasons are actually what really enthrall me. I love how he captures each season even more than the cool werewolf gore. The Stephen King story is also really great, but those illustrations just bump it up.

I really enjoyed the art and that was the primary reason I bought it. I've always enjoyed Bernie Wrightson. I didn't expect much from the story, and it was okay. Very Stephen King and I enjoyed several references to places I remember growing up around Bridgton.

“Spring has come back again—and this year, the Beast comes with it.”

A delightful, old-fashioned monster tale told in monthly vignettes throughout the course of one year. A sleepy little town is terrorized as the cycle of the werewolf begins.

And no one is safe.

It must also be mentioned how much atmospheric dread the accompanying illustrations in this novella gave. I loved the severed heads and ripped away faces that littered this tale of terror.

If you haven’t seen the film adaption Silver Bullet I highly recommend it!

Re-read, on Kindle, sans Wrightson illustrations (which are easily Google-able, anyway).

As with the last time I read it, I love it but I wish there was a little more to it. Infinitely preferable to the film adaptation (Silver Bullet), and endearingly grisly in the all the Stephen King-iest of ways.
