I didn't really get this book. It was really odd to read. The characters were kind of unlikable. There was some funny, weird moments but overall I wouldn't recommend it

Absurd, satirical, nihilist in a certain way, and very addictive. The first book I read from Vonnegut, and certainly not the last.

You know some of those 70s protest bands that made terrible music but you couldn't criticise them because their message was on point? This is the bookish equivalent. I like it's points on humanity bringing about its own distruction by scientific progress, the call for scientists to care more about what atrocities their works might bring about, being anti-war, and the absurdity of religion, but this reads extremely bleek and flat (not much satire for me to find). Adding to the damage are the racism, sexism, ableism, and sexual innuendos in the book which make this a pulpy read.

I was doubting between three and four stars.. It's very clever and one of the funniest books I've read in a while, and I absolutely love the more absurd parts. But somehow the story could've been better and I didn't really like the ending.
