I like that Vonnegut can balance these insane, profound glimpses at a larger truth just barely beyond our grasp with the gentle, constant reminder that he is just completely full of shit.

I gotta read more Vonnegut man.

Great critique on the strenuous relationship between tradition and progress

The book does a good job to critique religion and scientific progress—both seemingly intertwined yet completely opposed. Religion and progress have both drastically changed since the creation of the atomic weapon, and Vonnegut does a great job in showing how silly that relationship is.

There are definitely other themes as well, but I’m not writing a whole essay here.

Very, very good. I think the plot was a little less compelling than Slaughterhouse-Five but there were more amazing quotes in this one and it got better as you went along.
