I don't really have much to say about this books other than I liked it.

It was an enjoyable read and I different take on the apocalypse. I thought the religion aspect was ridiculous (which I guess was the point). It was in a pretty similar vein to Slaughter-house 5 but I prefer Slaughter-house over this. I'm definitely gonna have to read some of his other works because I find his writing style and little cynical and simplistic which I'm liking.

The first story I ever wrote, which happened in a college creative writing class, was about the end of the world. A young man had had enough of the world and its ways and wanted to change it. His desire for change was so immense that he summoned a storm of Biblical proportions and ended everything. It was dark.

Cat's Cradle is not dark, though there are times I wanted to jump off the side of a mountain (what are we all heading for, seriously). But Mr. Vonnegut, being a wiser man than I, wrapped up a more complete human experience into the world's end. That is, a more human experience for the reader. When you get to the last page, when all hope may or may not be lost, are you satisfied? Depressed? Angry? Elated? Enlightened? Lost? It all depends everything you are as a person. Busy, busy, busy.

It's as straightforward as a Vonnegut book can be, but with enough intelligence and whacked-out happenings that it encompasses much more than the words in the book. As a good book should.
