At first I was like: "see this book, it's a cats cradle." It meandered a bunch and kind of felt fruitless; but as I got towards the end, I realized that might the point.
I can't say I was a fan. I'm pretty sure that the whole meaning of this book was lost on me. I knew is was a satire going in, but maybe my history knowledge is not robust enough to allow me to draw proper parallels to the times during which the novel was written.
All in all, not a waste of time, but much of the message was lost on me.

I nearly up-rated this on my second read. The Ilium chapters set it up to be a masterwork, but after the abrupt, awkwardly justified shift to San Lorenzo, the book kind of falls apart. So it goes.

I didn't really get this book. It was really odd to read. The characters were kind of unlikable. There was some funny, weird moments but overall I wouldn't recommend it
