This is going no where quickly. I read almost 200 pages and I feel like nothing has happened. This feels like a completely different author from the New York Ruthless series. This first few chapters of this were great and gave these characters life but after they started sleeping with each other everything completely vanished from their personalities. We were told things instead of shown and any chemistry they had disappeared in a cloud of dust. On top of that, where the hell is any of the actual mafia/organized crime related activities? Such an absolute disappointment of a book. I could have finished this but I’d be surprised if I gave this anything higher than a 2 star. Plus I hate the surprise pregnancy trope .
Not bad. 3.5 stars, but I rounded up for good measure.

This book was good and I liked the writing style but I didn’t love the story. SA is a very prevalent part of the storyline and it is also a VERY smutty book and it made me feel a little icky reading about assaults that happen while also reading about sexual stuff the main characters were doing. I think I would have thought differently if Kat was taking charge of her sexual experiences to heal from her past trauma but it felt more like Dante was leading those experiences and I didn’t like that. Also the SA is not just with Kat there are several other characters/mentions of it. I do like the writing so I’m going to continue reading the series but I think this one will probably be my least favorite. I’m looking forward to Max & Lorenzo’s books though. Also I did not like how he kidnapped her and she never got a chance to leave or experience a world in which she has freedom with Dante.
