This was a pleasant surprise! I can't remember why I added this to my list - and it was slow at the start but I thought it felt like a fun fantasy but in a fresh way with a solid plot. Some of the politics was a little much - curious to see where the series goes.
Wait… I LOVED IT. If I would have had a general synopsis of what this book was about I never thought I’d enjoy it. I surprisingly wasn’t annoyed that we were figuring out what the heck was going on along with Romy. The world building was so unique in that sense. Also overlapping the regular world (NYC) with this fated world was so clever and well done. Again, I’m surprised I enjoyed those parts of the storyline! And that’s what made me like it even more. AND this is the same author as the simple wild, which I also liked! Can’t believe she wrote a fantasy series with a contemporary romance. I can’t wait to read the rest of the series. I’m hooked! Such a cool and unique storyline.
