I thought this was going to be almost 100% fluff, and instead I was pleasantly surprised. I have an inkling it began as fanfiction (not sure what of), but this was definitely well-edited if that’s the case.

Also, I fully did not expect the (*ahem*) yarn scene.

It started out with the main character talking about how much he loves his daughter and how much she means to him, and while I absolutely respect that in real life, when I read romance novels I'm looking for escapism. I'm not interested in 200 pages of lead-up to the boyfriend meeting the kid.

One word: oof.

Charlie's family sucks, even the "supporters" who do nothing to defend him. Charlie's therapist sucks (he has one, right?), because that boy has no self-esteem and needs to cut his blood family out of his life. It's a repeating cycle of how he only exists to work, study and send money to Emily, his baby mama, and doesn't deserve to have fun. It gets old, fast. Same way with how him and Ben go in circles.

this follow similiar beats to the first book. aubrey and charlie are both v anxious types. blake and ben are these easy going and i’ll make your life better types. the circumstances diff but it’s to similar for me.

The best thing about this book was Ben being Scottish.
The worst part... I just couldn't care less for their relationship? It just felt really shallow. I'm sure they're both great people, but I couldn't really connect with them. I'm happy they're happy though

Fun read, I don’t think I enjoyed this as much as the first one but still a nice read nonetheless

I think the first book is better. I think This book would have been better being published by itself then being published as the second book in the series because the character from the first book (Aubrey Barns) only shows up once in this book. So they were both tied together at all and were more like two separate books. But it’s still worth the read.
