I wanted to love this. It's enjoyable enough, but I feel like there was something lacking between the two male leads. I just wasn't vibing with their dynamic and didn't find the romance between them believable.

2.75⭐ A second in a series, though it stands alone. I had high hopes, and while I enjoyed the ending it took a lot to get there.

Take away: Cute with sexy scenes. However, I had a problem with the term "clean and sober." I don't think you can call a character clean or sober if he drinks regularly and gets high periodically. Maybe it is a difference in cultures or a generational variation.
Narration: Dan Calley - very good

Series - Non Series - Non-Fiction - Author It's considered a series, but the setting is the commonality vs. the characters.

2.5/5 rounded up
I liked this book far less than the previous standalone by this author. I found the characters shallow and sometimes annoying. I ended up taking an extended break in the middle of this book because I wasn’t super engaged. I also didn’t like this book’s audiobook narrator as the previous book. I actually had to slow the reading down from 1.0 to 0.8 because he spoke really fast and made it hard to understand. I’d be curious to read more by this author because I really liked the first book, but this one just wasn’t my cup of tea.

A cute book, nothing remarkable! I had no trouble getting through it and the characters were cute. Ben and his knitting addiction was my favorite. Charlie and his little anxiety spirals are cute but as usual with contemporary romance, the entire thing could have been fixed by talking LOL

A good read for a slow and lazy afternoon.
~ I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own ~

This is one of the sweetest romcoms I've read all year. It all starts with Charlie at work in the coffee shop and low and behold Ben Campbell (rock star of an indie band) is in line and there's fun banter between the two of them. Charlie doesn't recognize him until after he's gone and thinks he'll never see him again. But for weeks Ben comes in when he knows Charlie is working and before you know it he's propositioning him into a kiss, that leads to a hookup. The problem is that Charlie is a man of rules and routines due to past discretions and an anxiety disorder. He doesn't date, period. But there's just something about Ben that has him breaking all the rules. Their romance is a roller coaster or ups and downs and intense emotions. There's mentions of homophobia, drug use, teenage pregnancy, mental illness and drinking. Overall this story was so fun to read and I really enjoyed it. I received this arc from netgalley but all opinions are my own.
