This is probably more a 3.5. It's more an issue of the series, even in book 1, took a direction that usually isn't my thing so I'm enjoying the writing but because it's become more a genre of horror that I'm "eh" about, I'm not as in love as I am with some of her other writing. I plan to finish the series, though, and they're quick reads for me even with the "eh" genre.

Clare and Dorians relationship is kind of cringe definitely when he proposes her… here this ring I had time to steal from a jewelry store…

I love Darcy Coates, it’s the genre of this book I’m not liking. If you like post apocalyptic themes with monsters/zombies then this is your series.  I liked the first book, this second dragged a bit. I am going to finish the next 2 books but I am certainly glad that this wasn’t the first books I read of her, had it been I would never have read another by her.
