Book 2 in the Black Winter Series so I don’t want to spoil it.
Clare and Dorians relationship is kind of cringe definitely when he proposes her… here this ring I had time to steal from a jewelry store…

godddd this book had me crying, screaming and laughing by the end the plot twists are chefs kiss
I’m obsessed… that ending, wow!
The concept is so fascinating and well thought out, the pacing is perfect, with the slower character building moments and then the action packed scenes. Darcy is a genius!

Secrets in the Dark | Darcy Coates
Black Winter #2
Genre: Horror, Apocalyptic Horror, Creature Horror, Survivalist Horror
I started this second book in the Black Winter series almost immediately after finishing the first book. As I mentioned in my previous review, the first book sets up our characters and what is to come but I was looking forward to this one and hoping it would bring something more. I wasn’t disappointed in this follow up book. The story expands quite a bit as our main characters venture for the first time into the wider world leaving the relative safety of Winterbourne Hall. I won’t give anything away but we also get to learn more about what happened and understand more about the Hollows.
Overall, this was a solid sequel and second book in the series and I look forward to seeing where the next book goes. This one ends on kind of a cliffhanger so it makes you want to keep reading. I primarily listened to this on audiobook but switched to e-book for probably the last 25%. I enjoyed both ways of reading and found the narrators to be likable and easy to listen to.

The ending was the best part. Sometimes I hate how long the story drags out. But this book contains a lot of information that has you like wtf
