3.5 stars. I really enjoyed the atmosphere Leno created in this book, it was a perfect mix of suspense and release. I did, however, think the twist was extremely predictable but it was still well executed. The ending was INFURIATING but only because I hate having questions left unanswered. The final chapter had me on the edge of my seat - it was so fast paced and spooky, so much fun to read! I also really liked the literary allusions made throughout (a lot of connections to Atwood's Spotty Handed Villainesses) and the discussion of anger management from a teenage girl's perspective was really interesting and something that is not touched upon enough in YA. Really enjoyable spooky season book.

I loved the ending of this book, but it didn’t start to get good until the very end so I had to stick with a 4. Still a very solid book!

3.5 stars. I really wanted to like this, I enjoyed the spooky imagery and the description of the “haunted house.” But because the ending was so rushed, I really can’t give it more than that.

I feel like sometimes fade to black works for some novels but this isn’t one of them.

What did Will know that she didn’t? Was their more her mom wasn’t telling her? Was Annie crazy/what happened to her that caused her to be Ill?

SPOILERS
Was she possessed by the ghost or was she just crazy?

If I was just left with the above question I think I would have liked it a lot more. But it really felt like she learned about her dead sister and the book was over 20 pages later with no real resolution
