I'm going to come back to this at some point, but I've read too many back to back contemporary romances and I'm bored. This isn't a bad book by any means, but I just want to be done rn.

4⭐ Unpopular opinion but I never hated Winter from the other books, YES she was awful to Summer at times but it also seemed very overlooked to the reason why she was so mean. Winter was incredibly jealous of Summer and I would be too if my dad left me to raise my half sibling and left me with debatably worst mom ever. Of course Winter was rude and bitter she got stuck with unachievable standards from her mom, while Summer was getting positivity from her dad her whole life.

To the plot of this book though I LOVED IT!!!! Both Winter and Theo has great character development, seeing Theo go from the young playboy to mature father who stepped up the moment he found put about his daughter was special. Also seeing Winter and Summer work though their trauma was enjoyable.

Contains spoilers! This is my review of Reckless by Elsie Silver. The story follows Winter, Summer’s half-sister, and Theo, who works closely with Rhett from the first book. I enjoyed how this instalment offered a fresh perspective on events from the earlier story.
I didn’t expect to like this one as much as I did. In the first book, Theo came across as a bit immature and babyish, and I couldn’t quite picture him with Winter, who has a strong presence and a reputation as the “Ice Queen.” But reading from his perspective completely changed my opinion — he’s not immature at all, and his character depth really came through.
Winter, meanwhile, is struggling. She’s recently separated from her husband, who treated her poorly, and she’s dealing with the grief of a miscarriage. Feeling lost, she moves closer to her sister to rebuild their relationship. By chance, she crosses paths with Theo, sparks fly, and their relationship quickly develops — leading to an unexpected pregnancy.
The book explores how Winter and Theo navigate this new reality, working through their challenges for the sake of their child. Without giving away spoilers, I’ll just say Theo’s actions showed he’s far more than the impression we had of him in the earlier books, and I liked seeing his character growth.
While this wasn’t my favourite in the series, I appreciated the way it gave Winter her own happy ending. She’s a character I’ve always felt sympathy for, so it was satisfying to see her find love and healing. I also enjoyed her growing friendship with Sloane, which added another warm dynamic to the story.
Overall, Reckless was a sweet addition to the series. It deepened my understanding of Winter and Theo and gave them the ending they deserved. I’m continuing to really enjoy this series and will definitely be reading more from Elsie Silver.
