This was pretty solid. Very much Mountains of Madness vibe. I though this would be a little more speculative/weird but it was more of an expedition gone wrong. Which, that's fine but it just was not what I expected. Very much modern Lovecraft if you are looking for something in that vein.

The part where minds are being messed around was interesting and there were some small elements of it being horrifying and mysterious. But I don't know, the revelation of what lies behind the mystery and the ending was just not enjoyable.

Conflicted about this book. I didn't really enjoy it.

This is everything I want sci-fi to be

“Whatever is going to happen, it’s going to happen. It’s already happened. It’s happening right now. It’s up to you to decide how you make that count. How beautiful you let that be.”

The basic ideas of this book are great! The execution and dialogue lacked a little.

Very interesting psychological exploration of what it means to be human. What makes you who you are? Is free will even real?

Read like a sketch for a book. Very surface level with characters that are not fleshed out. Great idea, not great execution.
