Surprise after surprise finally shed light on some big issues and the two must decide whether to follow duty or their hearts.
The ending actually surprised me a bit and I'll definitely me reading the sequel.

Kazi and Jase's opposites attract swoon worthy romance story is written to perfection, and I appreciated the witty banter moments especially whenever Kazi is never afraid to speak her mind. Jase is definitely book boyfriend material, and Kazi is perfect for him.
Synove,Wren, and Kazi's friendship throughout the whole story is amazing to see,and they are truly thick as thieves.
I will definitely be buying the sequel Vow Of Thieves to read even more of Jase and Kazi's story, and to learn more about the other character's.
I highly recommend buying the beautiful B&N exclusive edition of Dance Of Thieves it looks amazing on book shelves, and it has shiny gold sprayed edges with a stunning white cover.

-Forced Proximity
-Reluctant Allies
-Fake Dating (kinda?)
Based on the TikTok hype and the sypnosis, I assumed that this would be a high stakes, fast paced adventure similar to Six of Crows and Guilded Wolves. While there was a bit of an adventure in the first few chapters, the book overall was slow paced, focused on characters, family, romance and politics. It was more akin to Graceling.
The title was fitting. It felt like a dance or a game being played between the main characters. We get both Kazi and Jase’s POVs, which was a nice setup for the story.
I have a soft spot for thieves with angsty backstories so I loved Kazi. I liked the way that she came up with riddles.
The romance was well done. It felt like it developed a bit fast but it made sense considering the forced proximity, and they continue to develop their feelings over the rest of the book.
The fatal flaw of the book for me was the amount of telling instead of showing.
It ends on a cliffhanger but I personally will be ignoring the last chapter and will not be reading the next book.

I will say I’m coming at this just focusing on the story, I really don’t pay close attention to how well the world building and lore and all that is so I can’t be critical about that. I was confused about certain details sometimes but likely my fault. Some plot lines were left open but there is a sequel so I will be reading that asap!!
Not spicy if that’s what you’re looking for (but u shouldn’t be bc this is young adult)
