This is beautifully written and engrossing. Tigest Girma has built a complex world of vampires with African origins, humans, lots of politics and a kind of sentient house.

This was a little too dark for me. But I really enjoyed this alternate world where vampires and humans have to overcome much to work together.

This is my first vampire book. I probably would not have chosen this book if it wasn't a book club pick.

I did enjoy it for the most part. Loved the dark academia vibes and learning about the Etheopian history. I look forward to reading the next book.
