Unfortunately this wasn’t for me. DNF’ing at 48%.
It’s just not grasping my attention. The main character is very unlikeable and completely murderous for reasons I do not entirely understand. I don’t feel any connection to any of the characters in the book. The magic system and vampire lore is interesting but it’s unfortunately not enough to keep me engaged.

3.5⭐️. I was throughly entertained through the book. I think Kidan is a psycho and the shapes thing and the constant “kill al evil” thing was irritating. If you’re gonna be crazy then stand ten toes down in that. I think crazy evil FMC has been done better. I loved Taj and GK. Iniko needs more screen time. Susenyos was ok. I wasn’t as drawn to him as I thought I’d be. I feel like if they had helped her find her sister to begin with none of that would’ve happened. Hella drama for nothing. Will probably red the next one when it comes out.

Characters are so deeply flawed, but yet so real.
I wish I enjoyed this book more than I did. It had all the things I love dark academia, horror, and vampires.
I struggled with this one and it felt like forever to finish.
It just couldn’t grab me and the characters just didn’t stick. I’m disappointed because I was so excited for this read!

I didn’t know until 10% mark that this was YA Romantasy, which explains why it’s not as engaging as I hoped.
The concept is interesting, and I might come back and finish it later. I would have definitely enjoyed this as a teenager but I think I’m no longer the target audience.
