This was so good and the first fantasy ish non contemporary romance I have read in a while so it defo took me a bit to get into the swing of things but I really enjoyed it!!

So beyond annoyed that the next book is not out yet, but i guess that shows how invested i got

justice for gk tho fr 😞

It started out well. I liked the characters and the concept. But it just got a bit complicated and confusing at the end. I felt like it was a bit much to follow. The main characters never really committed to each other it was a lot of will they or won't they. Not sure I liked it enough to read book 2 if there is one.

3.5 Stars

I was really into this for the first 90% of the book. I did have some issues with the friend relationships which felt like instant best friends though the main character says she trusts no one, so it was a little inconsistent.

However the last 10% was dumb, her sister being alive and well and just hanging out with “the bad guys” was just stupid.

I don't know what to say about this book. I know I would read it again, and probably the sequel, but my mind is racing.

This is a wild book, and there is so much going on. The blood, gore, and challenges of the book were awesome, and I loved every direction the story took. At times, there might have been too much going on, and i feel like certain parts were ignored/dropped for a while before being remembered and then picked back up, but it's got good bones.

This is a slow burn. Like slow. Though as soon as you’re going to take a break from it that’s when it takes a turn to entice you to read more. What a beautiful web of twist and turns, love and betrayal, duty vs death this book is.

4.5/5 stars!

This was a fantastic read (thank you Rin <3) and I enjoyed every minute of it. I feel as though the beginning was a little slow and redundant with the build up but once we finally hit a sweet spot in the middle I couldn’t put it down. Kidan was a perfect moral anomaly of a character and I love her so much. Her balance of absolute insanity versus genius is perfect. Susenyos was such a great yin to yang match for Kidan and him encouraging her to continue down the path of insanity was great, 10/10. Looking forward to the next book!

Not totally sure how I feel about this one - the premise and characters are super interesting, but the plot takes forever to actually get moving in a way that feels compelling which meant I was tuning in and out and likely missed some important terminology/lore. Fingers crossed Book 2 moves a little faster!
